There are plenty of ways you can satisfy a craving, but afterward you are in a worst fix then when the craving first appeared. Erwin McManus, author and pastor of MOSAIC in Hollywood created a brilliant documentary with some valuable people. He ask each of them this question "...when you hear these words, Church, Religion, Love, Jesus do you think positive or negative?"

In CRAVE: THE DOCUMENTARY Erwin chooses not to rattle on about the reward or the punishment, heaven or hell, but he chooses a lighter approach - a Christlike approach, a one-on-one conversation with people who matter to Jesus. We may crave chocolate, pie, pizza from time to time, but what happens when we start to crave meaning, intimacy, depth. Whether we like to admit it or not, our souls are craving and Jesus is readily available to connect with us to satisfy that craving.

Gossip or Gospel

What would you rather hear be honest juicy gossip or good news about someone? If you only get excited over gossip there's no need to be ashamed, we all are guilty of it, but we have to be careful.  The bible has a lot to say about gossip. Out of fifty scriptures I thought I share four that hit home for me and caused me to changed what I say and what I hear.

Proverbs 6:16-19 ESV

There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

Proverbs 16:28 ESV

A dishonest man spreads strife, and a whisperer separates close friends.

Ephesians 4:29 ESV

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Matthew 12:36 ESV

I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak,

Knowing what we know by reading these scriptures we have to be mindful of what comes out of our mouth. We cannot change what's around us, but our word can "give grace to those who hear." If you are going to have someone's name in your conversation say something good about them so the person you are talking to can have something good to say about you when you're not around.

Gossip vs. iBeauty Talk

Guy: Have you heard about what happend to Susan?

Girl: No, what?

Guy: She got promoted! Do you think it has to do with her brains or her bust?

Girl: LOL, well, she's not that smart! Soooo!

Guy: That would explain a lot, LOL!

Guy: Have you heard about what happened to Susan?

Girl: We don't talk often, so I wouldn't know; however she does read her bible.

Guy: Well, she got promoted, but everyone is wondering why.

Girl: Why wonder, she's very smart, nice, beautful and a believer.  Tha's amazing, I'll be sure to congradulate her.

Guy: Yeah, you're right, me too!
